Volunteers do so many “little things” that make “big things” possible. There are many ways to say thank you, but sometimes a small token or moment of appreciation can mean a lot. An informal award can be one of gratitude for an event or a programme well run.
Here are some ideas of what you could do:
- A small note sent to the Adult Leader or parent.
- A light lunch at a great restaurant.
- Provide mentoring opportunities to develop their skills.
- Have a “volunteer of the month” in your Group or District.
- Acknowledge each volunteer at the end of the year.
- A “Thank You Badge” is also available at the National Scout Shop for a nominal fee. This is a metal pin that can be a permanent reminder of your gratitude for their service.
