It is nearly here! The biggest Scouting event of the year! JOTA (Jamboree of the Air), JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) unites over 1 million Cubs, Scouts and Guides from 150+ countries each year! Scouting members get to share their experiences and adventures using the Internet or a Radio frequency.

Do you want to give the kids in your Scout Group the opportunity to make international friends? Then the time has come for Scout Groups who want to join in the 2018 JOTA JOTI to registerRegistration can be done here.

Why should our Group register for JOTA JOTI 2018?

Registration for this years’ JOTA JOTI event provides your Group access to the International Jamboree page. You will be able to see at a glance, all the registered stations from around the world, and take part in the largest Scout event to be held each year. This also gives you the opportunity to contact other stations around the world before the event, and setup a dedicated time etc to make contact. Start planning your JOTA JOTI now!

Once registered, for either JOTA (Jamboree of the Air), or JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet), read through the requirements and decide what you are able to do.

For JOTA, you will need a Radio Amateur (Ham) to assist. There are plenty around the country. SSA’s National JOTA JOTI coordinator Richard Hooper can assist you in locating and contacting one of the local amateur radio clubs.

If you plan a JOTI event only, all you need is a computer and an internet connection. All the details are online and available to you when you register, but if you need assistance please contact  SSA’s National JOTA JOTI coordinator Richard Hooper.

It’s not difficult to setup an event at your Scout Hall. All you need is a couple of Cubs and Scouts and a Scouter or two to organize the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to have Pack and Troop working together. Run a badge or two over the weekend, and take part in the International game, JamPuz. All details are on the Jota Joti info page.
There is also no need to run your event the entire weekend; you can choose what days to run according to your Group’s schedule. The busiest times are on the Saturday.
